Practical Support, Participation, Inclusion.

Practical Support, Participation, Inclusion.

Inspired is a refugee-led community charity supporting refugees, asylum seekers and migrant communities through advice, advocacy, community-led programmes and partnership working.

Inspired empowers refugee, asylum seeker and migrant women, supports young adults, reduces isolation among older people and helps individuals and families build confidence, improve wellbeing, understand and exercise their rights and participate fully in their communities. Through our advice, advocacy, community-led programmes and partnership working, we help people overcome multiple barriers, including racism, discrimination, isolation and exclusion, enabling them to build more independent, connected and fulfilling lives.

Community Voices

The experiences of the people we support shape everything we do. Their voices help us improve our services, strengthen our programmes and build welcoming, inclusive communities where refugees, asylum seekers and migrant communities can thrive.

  • “The generosity you showed in putting together such a fantastic event didn't go unnoticed… It's moments like these that truly make our community shine.” – Christmas Party Guest.

  • “I very much appreciated the opportunity to participate and learn new skills. I enjoyed the experience and made new friends,” – Women's Training participant.

  • "Thank you for your support as I settled in the UK. I am forever grateful for your compassion, reassurance and help,"– Iranian Refugee.

  • “I am very grateful for the chance to participate in these activities. Despite [my mobility challenges], I was warmly welcomed, and enjoyed the session a lot.”

What we do:

Our Approach

Inspired believes lasting change begins with listening. As a refugee-led charity, we build trusted relationships with refugees, asylum seekers and migrant communities and work alongside people with lived experience to understand their priorities and help shape our programmes and development.

We are committed to equality, dignity, and human rights and to challenging racism, discrimination, and exclusion. By working collaboratively with communities and partner organisations, we help people overcome barriers while using what we learn from frontline experience to improve our work, strengthen services and contribute to longer-term change.

A message from our Founder

“Exclusion jeopardises a person’s dignity, security, and opportunities for a better life, so all Inspired projects aim to foster inclusion and create a sense of belonging. In doing so, we uplift not just the individual but our entire community,”

Mrs Mahboubeh Ghaffarizad, Trustee and Founder of Inspired.
